Like many of you, my home is filled with teetering stacks of picture books. We adore the classics and the brilliant tales penned by legendary authors; those stories are treasures that will always hold a place of honour on our shelves. But as a father, I found myself wanting something a little different for my son. I wanted a way to capture the magic of our daily life—the specific route we walk to the park, the friendly baker on the corner, and the familiar sights of our own village.
The Spark of an Idea
I realised that you simply cannot walk into a bookshop and pluck a story off the shelf that features your own local high street. I wanted to bridge the gap between the imaginative worlds of fiction and the beautiful, tangible reality of the places my son recognises every single day. So, I set out to create a storybook that felt like a hug from our own neighbourhood.
